The Friday before AIDS Memorial Day, we went to Four Square High School to give the kids who wouldn’t be able to make it to Pausa a chance...
...to remember loved ones who had died of AIDS. Here Kevin Bell ushers the students to the chapel.
Tons of students packed into the chapel.
UTB performs the skit we will do for AIDS Memorial Day. We all sing joyfully until one of our members wanders away and gets sick. Then things go wrong
However, Christ goes with him, and one of the other members seeks him out and invites him back.
Then we are all joyful once more.
The man still becomes sick and dies, but he dies with joy. Jesus ushers him to heaven and we light a candle in his memory.
Kia, the Provincial AIDS coordinator speaks to the kids about watching out for things that might trip them up in their lives.
One of the other teachers speaks about the hope that we have.
Liz speaks about the significance of remembering.
Student reps light candles for the various groups of people who have died of AIDS and whom we want to remember…mothers, fathers, children, youth, etc.
Then we share in a moment of silence and close the service.
